City of Sparks was selected by the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) to participate in Pre-Incident Planning System (PiPS) Pilot Test Project as a non-funded community.

Dolores E. Beaugez, President of Visual Imagry, Inc., was selected as the Safe Schools Committee Chair & Project Coordinator.

Ben Hutchins, City of Sparks Project Impact Steering Committee Chairman, coordinated the City's portion of project Impact and the Safe Schools Project.

Sarah Barclay, a Reno High School student in 2000, was selected to learn pre-incident planning documentation and site assessment.
