| Q |
Why
would the Washoe County School
District need HTML site assessement
of each campus to
be created as part of their
U.S.
Department
of
Education
School Readiness & Emergency
Management 2005-07 Grant? |
A |
"HTML
site assessments are like a virtual
tour of each school site," said
Police Chief Mike Mieras
of
the
Washoe County
School District."The HTML
output from each school site
assessment is a web site
that contains maps and floor
plans
of each
school;
utility
connection locations; photographs
and 360 movie images of classrooms,
lounges, common areas; and site
plans with evacuation routes,
staging areas, etc." |

|
|
Q
|
Can
the Washoe County School District
HTML preplans be used for emergency
planning efforts, as well for
responding to an incident? |
A
|
"Yes!
For example, when Democratic
presidential candidate Senator
Hillary Rodham Clinton was scheduled
to speak at Hug High School on
April 29, 2007, authorized members
of the Secret Service Advance
Team were provided limited access
to Hug High School's HTML preplan," said
WCSD Police Officer Tracy Moore. "They
were provided with instant access
to such critical data as floor
plans, site plans, aerial views
and 360 images of the gym. This
detailed information was invaluable
with their logistics planning
for the public town hall meeting
in Reno." |
| |
|
|
Q
|
How
many HTML preplans were created? |
A
|
Visual
Imagry created 94 HTML school
site preplans, HTML preplans
for the WCSD bus yards and select
administration buildings, 5 sample
quick response plans and 5 emergency
plans. The HTML preplans were
developed by Visual Imagry. |
| |
|
|
Q
|
What
type of data was collected
and how were they developed? |
A
|
During
a three month period, Visual
Imagry collected 45,000 digital
photos and 7,500 digital 360
movies that were used in developing
the HTML preplans for the schools
within the District. The digital
images were collected from June
2006 to the end of August 2006.
Visual Imagry's team created 105 HTML plans starting in June of 2006,
until the project was ready
to deliver in May of 2007. |
| |
|
|
Q
|
Who
wrote the Emergency
Response Plan for
the District? |
A
|
The
Washoe County School District Emergency
Response Plan was written
by Visual
Imagry's training team,
as part of the CIRP contract
with Visual
Imagry. The goal for
writing the ERP was to provide
a foundation for WCSD to begin
incorporating the Incident Command
System (ICS) for training and
responding to school site incidents.
|
| |
|
|
Q
|
Will
the Emergency Response
Plan also be available
in HTML? |
A
|
"Yes," said
Dee Beaugez, president of Visual
Imagry. "After the Washoe
County School District Emergency
Response Plan was written
and approved
by WCSD, our team then inputted
the ERP using VIPlanning® Software."
"Because
of VIPlanning® Software's
unique linking feature, the HTML
version of the Washoe County
School District Emergency
Response Plan was easily
included in each school's HTML
preplan. This linking feature
provides an easy way for administrator,
principals and members of School
Incident Response Teams (SIRT)
to have on-demand access to
the HTML Emergency Response
Plan . Therefore, it can
easily be used for training
exercises, as well as preparedness
and response projects." |

|
|
Q
|
Who
co-coordinated the Critical
Incident Response Project (CRIP)
for the Washoe County School
District? |
A
|
Chris
Smith, WCSD Director of Emergency
Preparedness for the WCSD and Dee
Beaugez, President of Visual
Imagry, Inc., co-coordinated
the project. |
| |
|
|
Q
|
Who
were the other
members of the WCSD Critical
Incident Response
Project (CIRP)
team? |
A
|

2006-07 project included: Ken
Grein, Superintendent of Operations,

|
|
Q
|
How
did WCSD review all the
HTML preplans and other
HTML Plans? |
A
|
"Visual
Imagry created
a secure web site that
was used for project review
and updates. This is part
of the company's online
division - VIPlanning® Online. During
the year, 128
Forums and 285 topics were
created and used for updates
and tracking the progress
of the project. The site
was also used for HTML
preplan review by members
of the WCSD CIRP Team." |
| |
|
|
Q
|
What
software was used to create
the HTML preplans for the WCSD? |
A
|
VIPlanning® Software
was used to create the HTML
preplans.
The WCSD purchased 115 facility
licenses and the Enterprise
licenses used to share and link data
between facilitites (school)
web sites. |
| |
|
|
Q
|
Who
will own and maintain the data once
the project is completed? |
A
|
All
the data (photographs, movies,
questionnaires, HTML preplans,
emergency plans, etc.) is controlled
and can be updated by WCSD through
the WCSD School Police Department and
their Emergency Preparedness
division.
Lt. Dale Richardson, WCSD Police Deparment, will coordinate all updates
and the development of new HTML preplans for the WCSD after the June 1, 2007
installation. |
| |
|
|
Q
|
Who
Developed (invented)
the software? |
A
|
VIPlanning® Software and
the WCSD
VIPlanning® Online
secure web site were developed
by Visual Imagry. Donald

architect.. |
